Miuccia Prada's Costume Designs for 'The Great Gatsby'

Miuccia Prada has released four of her costume design sketches for Baz Lurhmann's upcoming film adaptation of 'The Great Gatsby'. The pair have previously worked together on 'Romeo + Juliet' (1996), to create Leonardo DiCaprio's suit.

Miuccia Prada collaborated with costume designer Catherine Martin to create over 40 looks for 'The Great Gatsby', inspired by the Prada and Miu Miu archives as well as 1920s fashion.

The dresses look fabulous - lots of shimmering sequins and beads, and glamourous jewel colour schemes and velvet and fur fabrics. These costumes will be worn by the film's star cast, including carey Mulligan. The male leads will be wearing outfits produced by American brand Brooks Brothers, famous for their preppy polo-top style favoured by F. Scott Fitzgerald himself.

See some stills and the trailer for the film in this post.

'The Great Gatsby' is set to be released on the 17th May this year.
